Medication and medical care
Medical officers and consultant psychiatrists manage medication and physical health, especially during assessment and stabilisation in the first stage of treatment.
SCTI treats substance use disorders with a holistic approach instead of a single method. Our program is based on proven methods of alcoholism and addiction recovery, combining coaching, counselling, the twelve-step philosophy, group therapies and recreational programs.

A team around every patient
After an extensive evaluation, therapists, counsellors and psychologists develop a personalised treatment plan based on the patient’s diagnosis, interests and personality.
The treatment team includes medical doctors, consultant psychiatrists, addiction counsellors, social workers and psychologists. Each one looks at a different part of the person’s health, and together they adjust the plan as the patient progresses.
Therapies we use
Every client’s plan combines these methods in the right balance for them.
Medical officers and consultant psychiatrists manage medication and physical health, especially during assessment and stabilisation in the first stage of treatment.
Individual sessions help the client understand the core issues behind the addiction and work through them with a licensed therapist.
Groups focus on Early Recovery Skills, Relapse Prevention Skills and Social Support in Recovery, so clients learn from each other as well as from the therapist.
The 12-Step approach gives clients a proven framework for staying sober. Before discharge, clients are introduced to local 12-Step programs and other community support groups.
Practical coaching helps clients rebuild routines, handle daily-life problems and take personal responsibility for their recovery.
Using a variety of treatment methods, clients closely examine the behaviours and situations that could trigger relapse, then practise positive coping strategies with real-time support.
Indoor games and recreational activities give structure to the day and help clients reconnect with healthy enjoyment.
Patients and families learn about mental and addictive illness through workshops and lectures, so the whole family can support recovery.
Our philosophy
SCTI is a member of the World Federation Against Drugs and follows proven methods of alcoholism and addiction recovery treatment. One of our goals is to develop a treatment model that fits Pakistani culture and family life.
We also believe families should understand mental and addictive illness. Our centre aims to be a friendly space where families can learn, and where people can attend anonymous support meetings.
See how these methods come together in our 90-day rehab program, or read about our addiction treatment services.
